Nothing tastes better than homemade and when it comes to pasta sauces, this still holds true.
The ingredients are simple enough:
Canned Tomatoes
Tomato paste
Basil (fresh (better) or dried)
Oregano (fresh (better) or dried)
Thyme again fresh being better, but dried is also good
Freshly grated garlic
Freshly chopped onion
Couple Bay leaves
Chopped celery, carrots and peppers (if you want a hearty sauce)
Mushrooms (if you like)
Tomato Salt (if you have)
Worcestershire Sauce
Salt and Pepper to taste.
Start by cooking your garlic, onions and peppers in a little olive oil. Once softened, add the rest of the ingredients and then cook on low for several hours. You are looking to cook out some of the liquid from the sauce to help thicken it up.
