An all time favorite at the Foodie household when dining out so I thought why not try making it at home. Scoured the internet and found thousands of recipes so it was time to start experimenting with recipes until I find the one that comes closest to what we like from the various restaurants around Calgary and abroad where we’ve had it. This recipe turned out great and very flavourful but not quite the same, so the hunt will continue.
I’m sure Gordon Ramsey would have a swearing fit over the presentation, but hey, this is home and not some 5 star restaurant.
Since we had most of the ingredients it was just a matter of putting it all together. Since this wasn’t exactly like what we wanted I won’t post the recipe here but just mention the ingredients and the preparation. Once I find the perfect one for us, I’ll post the recipe.
Start by frying cubed chicken breast in butter until well browned then set aside. Then fry the onion, garlic, garam masala, ginger, chili powder, cumin and cayenne pepper until the onion is soft.
When done, add the tomato sauce, stir, then add the cream and bring to a simmer. Add the cooked chicken and cook until you have the desired tenderness in the chicken. I cooked for about 20 minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Serve with Naan or rice or both and garnish with Lime and fresh cilantro.
