This was a Facebook find that I just had to try. See the bottom of this post for a link to the recipe.
The banana really makes this a moist and delightfully delicious twist on a classic cinnamon roll.
Get all your dry ingredients into a bowl and make a well for the wet ingredients.
Once it begins to form a dough, you are ready for some gently kneading.
using your hands or a rolling pin, form into some semblance of a rectangle.
Pour on some of the melted butter and spread around. Then top with the cinnamon and brown sugar mixture. I added the chopped walnuts to this when making. Now we really like cinnamon, so we pretty much tripled the amount and added a extra brown sugar for sweetness
Once spread out and lightly packed down, begin to roll up.
Cut into equal sized slices and place in a baking dish. I used a cast iron frying pan, but you can use any type of pan you would like. Since the ends usually get the shaft when it comes to filling, I placed those in the middle and placed the others around them.
I then topped with more melted butter and some more of the cinnamon, sugar, nut mixture. Remember how much we love cinnamon.
Bake from 18 – 20 minutes at 400ºF. While they are baking you can make up the cream cheese frosting. Since we had some leftover cinnamon, sugar, nut mixture, I also added that to the frosting.
Dish and top with the cream cheese frosting.
