The Park Kitchen and Bar

The celebrate my brother’s retirement, we took him to The Park Kitchen and Bar in Quarry Park.  It is a close walk from our place and we’ve always wanted to try their entree’s versus just their appetizer and drinks.  On this occasion I decided to try the Surf and Turf burger.  The burger comes with butter poached lobster so I thought why not give it a try.

Fionn MacCools’ in Red Deer

Was in Red Deer yesterday visiting a friend we haven’t seen in over 15 years.  While there we decided to stop at Fionn MacCools.  We’ve been to the location in Calgary several times and have enjoyed the food every time.  Ang hadn’t been, so it seem like the perfect opportunity to introduce her to the greatness.  The location was handy to our meet up spot and the parking was amble.  The staff friendly and fairly attentive.  The food for the most part was spot on.  I opted for the Chips and bacon butty.  A phenomena straight out of modern day London England.

Real Foods – Creston BC

While out at the cottage this weekend we decided to have dinner out on Saturday.  Taylor had eaten at Real Foods in Creston, BC and wanted us to give it a try.  The restaurant is just off the main street in downtown Creston…I still get a laugh when I think of downtown Creston.  It is a pretty small town, but surprisingly has about 6 stops lights!  But I digress.  The restaurant is in the basement of a small building that has what appears to be a guitar store or guitar lessons office on the main floor, along with something else.  Wasn’t really paying too much attention as we were focused on dinner.  When we got to the bottom of the stairs the waitress said we can sit anywhere, and aside from the 2 tables that were reserved, we sat at the only remaining table indoors.  There is a patio, but we opted for the comfort of indoors, free of bugs and what not.
